    Daring Coyotes

    March 29, 2024  6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

David Clark Carroll grew up playing music in Boston, first discovering bluegrass in college at the Philadelphia Folk Festival where he saw pioneering flat picker Doc Watson and newgrass legends Sam Bush and David Bromberg. Daring Coyotes is based around original material by David and live is an improvisational experience, going deep on original and traditional tunes with a modern flair, highlighted on the recent album Odyssey of the Far West. Inspired by mandolin/guitar duet albums such as Shady Grove, Blake & Rice and Doc & Dawg, this collection of original songs by David is filtered through traditional sensibilities and based on progressive songwriting and hard driving instrumentals.

    Tobey Sol LaRoche

    March 30, 2024  1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Tobey was raised in a household surrounded by instruments from across the globe. He became fascinated with many of them, however the djembe called to him at an early age. Over the years - while he always considered his voice to be his primary instrument - his love of rhythm led him to join a variety of bands on drum kit and percussion, with whom he continued to learn and thrive. While these groups kept him busy for years, getting folks dancing at venues all over New England, much of his free time was spent composing his own original material on his other love, the guitar. His earlier writing and explorations on numerous instruments can be enjoyed via recordings made by the Americana group, Sol & Kiel, which he co-founded back in 2011 alongside Michael Kiel Cash.

Tobey’s original music embraces the syncopation and unconventional rhythmic elements inspired by his background in percussion with former projects. His solo work takes a more subtle approach however, weaving melodies that soar between tastefully finger-plucked or strummed guitar lines. His songs attempt to explore the complexities of love and loss, while breathing hope into every tale he tells. He is a lover of life and humanity, and believes deeply that music serves to guide us all in our collective search for meaning and purpose. He writes with the wisdom that every lesson learned deserves to be shared, as we are all on this journey together.

Annie Patterson, Mary Witt , and Ann Percival are “Dear Ella”, a trio from Western Massachusetts whose repertoire includes songs from jazz standards to blues to Motown to folk favorites. The band’s name, inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, is a nod to the many women singers who have inspired them. Singing in harmony is something these three highly accomplished musicians have been doing their whole lives. Now, as “Dear Ella”, Ann, Mary & Annie bring their individual musicianship and talents together to form a dynamic trio. Come sing with them, dance to their songs, and enjoy their uplifting and beautiful harmonies with guitars, bass, drum and banjo.
