Burgy Brew

The Place to Meet, Eat and Drink in
the Heart of Williamsburg, MA

Burgy Brews Taproom and Meeting House is located in a historic 1812 building in the village center of Williamsburg, MA. The name “Burgy” is the self titled nickname given to our town by the locals. All of our craft brews are made here on site at our state of the art brewery. Our meeting house is a communal space where people of all ages have a place to come together to enjoy good food, drinks, live music and each other’s company. We have a variety of games to keep you entertained which include shuffleboard, Foosball as well as an assortment of various board games. During the warmer months come soak up the sunshine and enjoy our outdoor beer garden. There is an abundance of local farms in the surrounding area so we try to take advantage of that by sourcing local ingredients for our food whenever possible. We are committed to being as environmentally conscientious as possible. We use compost-able serving dishware instead of plastic to help try and cut down on unnecessary waste.  Our liquid byproduct from the brewery is taken and converted through bio-digestion into gas which is used to create renewable energy to help power more than 1600 homes in the surrounding community. Come see for yourself all that Burgy Brews has to offer.

*Children are welcome at our facility but they must be closely supervised and are not allowed to run around the brewery or the parking lot. Instead, please enjoy our “Half Pint” area in the taproom for their entertainment as well.

Brewers Bio:

The owners of the brewery Dennis Bates Jr. and Mike Charpentier combined have over 30 years experience in the commercial beer brewing industry.

Mike Charpentier(Co-Owner/Brewer): Mike’s love of brewing began when he was 5 when he would help his father make home-brewed beer in their kitchen. At age 21 he was gifted his own home brewing equipment and from there began writing his own recipes and experimenting with his own different style beers. After graduating Johnson and Wales with a culinary degree and working in various restaurants, Mike and his wife had the hope to one day open their own brewpub. It was then that he put his culinary career on hold to set out and gain some professional experience in the commercial brewing industry. Mike worked his way up from starting off as a volunteer washing kegs to becoming the head brewer for Opa Opa Brewery. In 2016 Mike and Dennis Bates formed their own company specializing in contract brewing services.

Stephanie, Work on this part for Dennis please. I began doing some, but you need to juice it up

Dennis Bates Jr. (Co-Owner/Brewer): Dennis, with an education background in Information Technology, got an early start in the restaurant industry leading to becoming the Assistant Brewer for the Opa Opa Brewing Co. later moving up to managing the brewery. Well versed in all aspects of the industry, Dennis is capable of just about anything required to keep the operation running. In 2016, the opportunity arose to begin renting the facility and begin our own brewing business and that’s when Mike and Dennis teamed up.
